Aleknagik Natives Limited (ANL) is an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) located in the Bristol Bay region in southwest Alaska. Aleknagik Natives Limited is a village corporation as established by Congress under terms of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) in 1971. Formed in 1973, Aleknagik Natives Limited works to fulfill our vision that – With one mind, we shall move forward to empower, enrich, and shape our traditional way of life.

Aleknagik Natives Limited is driven by our vision and mission to serve our shareholders with integrity and purpose.

Our vision, encapsulated in the Yupik translation “Ataucimek umyuarluta, ciutmurciiqukut pinircauteklu Kencikluku yuuyararput,” guides us to move forward together, empowering, enriching, and preserving our traditional way of life.

In line with our mission statement, expressed in the Yupik translation “Yugtauluni corporation – aaq shareholderaani pitekluki amllerillerkait –ggun tukutekateng cali-llu nunam auluklerkaa,” we strive to be a profitable Alaska Native Village Corporation.

We aim to enhance shareholder prosperity by providing opportunities such as higher education scholarships, vocational education scholarships, homesites, and dividends. ANL is Recruiting Board Members


The Board of Directors (Board) of Aleknagik Natives Limited (ANL) has set the place and date for the 52nd Annual Meeting of Shareholders, which will be held in Dillingham, Alaska, on Saturday, May 31, 2025. In connection with the election, the Board will endorse a slate of three candidates whose names will appear on the corporate proxy for the election at this year’s meeting.

To serve on the Board, each director must be a voting ANL shareholder over the age of 19 and has not been convicted of nor pled guilty to a felony.

If you are interested in being included on the ANL proxy you, must submit the following candidate application materials:

  1. Completed Proxy Compliance and Conflict of Interest Questionnaire (signed).
  2. A letter of intent stating the intention to run for the Board and request to be named as a candidate on the ANL’s proxy (signed).

The deadline for receipt of complete applications, including items (1) and (2) above, is 5 p.m., Monday, February 3. Instructions for submission of the applications are in the questionnaire.

If your complete application is received by this deadline, the Nominating Committee may contact you for additional information about your background and qualifications and to schedule an interview. The nominating Committee will review all complete applications received by the deadline and make recommendations to the Board for candidates to be included in ANL’s proxy material.

Apply for the Bristol Bay Foundation Higher Education Scholarships!

Attention prospective scholarship students! Are you ready to pursue your higher education and vocational training goals? The Bristol Bay Foundation supports you every step of the way. Mark your calendars: Both scholarship applications are due this upcoming Friday, April 4, 2025.

Higher Education Scholarships (HE):

  • For traditional college programs, such as Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees at universities.
  • Follow these steps to apply:
    1. Go to mybbnc.net
    2. Log in to your account. If you don’t have one, register by clicking “REGISTER” and follow the instructions.
    3. Click the BENEFITS dropdown menu and select Bristol Bay Foundation.
    4. Select the Higher Education Program Application Portal button.
    5. Click on “Programs” to select HE or CFVE.
    6. Complete your application by the first Friday in April.

Career Focused Vocational Education (CFVE):

  • For non-university training programs through technical schools and training, such as welding, piloting, beauty school, electrical, cosmetology, etc. (6 months or longer but less than 2 years).
  • Follow these steps to apply:
    1. Go to mybbnc.net
    2. Log in to your account. If you don’t have one, register by clicking “REGISTER” and follow the instructions.
    3. Click the BENEFITS dropdown menu and select Bristol Bay Foundation.
    4. Select the Career Focused Vocational Education Scholarship Program Application Portal button.
    5. CFVE has three deadlines a year (typically in April, July, and December). Follow us on Social Media for exact dates and announcements.

Ikayurgna Emergency Aid: BBF has developed a pilot program for emergency aid available to currently enrolled scholarship recipients. The program aims to assist students with pressing needs that might hinder a student’s ability to continue in their intended program.

Follow these steps to apply:

  1. Sign in to your myBBNC account at myBBNC.net (do not enter “www”). If you don’t have an account, register by clicking “REGISTER” and follow the instructions.
  2. Click the BENEFITS dropdown menu and select Bristol Bay Foundation.
  3. Select either the Higher Education or Career Focused Vocational Education Scholarship Program Application Portal buttons.
  4. Top Right you select PROGRAMS.
  5. Click Start Application for the Ikayurnga Emergency Aid Program.
